GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BLOW OUT CLEVELAND CAVALIERS IN GAME 1 OF THE NBA FINALS

Kevin Durant unleashed his inner beast mode to post 38 points to help the Golden State Warriors manhandle the defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers, 113-91, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Thursday, June 1 (Friday Manila time) at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

Durant also added 8 rebounds and 8 assists after imposing his dominance through a series of powerful dunks and three-pointers for the Warriors.

Steph Curry was quiet in the first two periods but sizzled in the third quarter as he finished with 28 while LeBron James led the Cavs with 28 points as well.

Golden State sent a clear message to Cleveland they want to regain the championship trophy as they rallied a strong 15-0 run with the Warriors leading by 18 points, 73-55.

Cleveland faced a 20-point deficit with 6 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter and it was a deficit they weren’t able to recover from as Golden State finished strong.

This year’s NBA Finals is the third installation of the Warriors-Cavs duel with Cleveland winning it last year and Golden State clinching the title in 2015.
